September 2010 - January 2011

She-who-must-be-obeyed decided we would do something spectacular to celebrate our Ruby Wedding Anniversary which is in August this year: so she set about producing a list of possible holiday destinations. I humoured her but when the list got to ten places to go I decided to call a halt, and promptly threw the list away. However because SWMBO has nothing better to do with her time and subscribes to various Tour Operators web sites who also send out bi-monthly flyers we received a brochure with a cruise that caught MY eye. Before I could say anything else she had contacted the Tour Operator and confirmed the itinerary and all important price and I was leaned on to book it. The only drawback is that the cruise is in February, 6 months before our anniversary but we couldn't persuade the Captain of the Ship to alter the sailing date!

So what is this fantastic cruise? Sailing on the Diamond Princess we leave from Sydney and eventually finish up in Beijing. However the tour operator was offering this as a Managers Special, adding 3 nights in Sydney pre-cruise and 3 nights in Beijing at the end before flying home, hopefully to spring weather. You will have to follow our blog to see how we get on with this adventure and in the meantime here are some pictures from our previous trips to wet your appetite.
